Business details and scope
KDS AUTOS (GLASGOW) LTD is a private limited company registered in Scotland under company number SC513705, with registered office at 484 Denmark Street, Glasgow, Scotland, G22 6DB.
The website covers vehicle maintenance, diagnostic and repair enquiries. Availability, vehicle suitability and the precise work must be confirmed. Nothing on the website promises emergency recovery, immediate attendance, MOT testing or a particular specialist service unless expressly agreed.
Enquiries and formation of a contract
Submitting a website form is a request for contact and does not itself create an appointment or contract. A booking is formed only when the vehicle, date, initial work, price basis and any relevant conditions are confirmed.
You must provide accurate information about the vehicle, symptoms, previous work, modifications and whether it can be driven safely. A booking may be declined or changed if the actual vehicle or condition materially differs from the information supplied.
Quotes, estimates and prices
A quotation is a fixed price for the described work unless you agree a change in scope. An estimate is a realistic indication where the final labour, parts or fault cannot be known before inspection or dismantling.
Guide prices on the website are not automatic offers. Confirmed prices depend on vehicle specification, parts availability, oil grade and quantity, access, corrosion, seized or damaged components and inspection findings. Consumer prices will show any applicable VAT.
Diagnostics and authorisation
Diagnostic work identifies likely causes using reasonable inspection and testing. A fault-code scan alone may not identify the underlying fault, and successful diagnosis can require additional time or specialist testing.
Additional work is not authorised merely because it is recommended. Unless an agreed spending limit applies, material extra work requires your approval. You are responsible for charges for diagnostic or authorised work even where you decide not to proceed with a later repair.
Parts and replaced components
Parts may be new, reconditioned or customer-supplied only where expressly agreed. The quotation should identify the intended basis. Customer-supplied parts may be refused and can affect warranty responsibility because their condition, suitability and provenance are outside our control.
Replaced parts may be retained for inspection on request where lawful and practical, unless they must be returned to a supplier or disposed of under an exchange or warranty arrangement.
Your responsibilities
- ensure you are authorised to approve work on the vehicle;
- remove valuables and disclose locking wheel nut keys, security codes or access restrictions;
- tell us about known safety issues, modifications and previous diagnostic work;
- maintain suitable insurance and legal roadworthiness when delivering or collecting the vehicle;
- collect the vehicle and pay agreed charges when notified.
Do not drive a vehicle that appears unsafe. Seek appropriate recovery or emergency assistance where necessary.
Completion, payment and collection
Timescales are estimates unless a specific completion date is agreed. Parts delays, additional faults and third-party services can change completion time.
Payment is due in the agreed manner before or on collection unless written credit terms apply. The company may retain possession of the vehicle until sums properly due for authorised work are paid, subject to applicable law. Reasonable storage charges may apply after notice where a completed vehicle is not collected.
Cancellations and remote bookings
Where consumer cancellation rights apply to a distance or off-premises contract, the required cancellation information will be provided. If you expressly request work to begin during a cancellation period, you may have to pay for services supplied before cancellation. Cancellation rights can be affected once services are fully performed with the required agreement.
Appointments should be cancelled as early as possible. A reasonable cancellation or diagnostic charge may apply where specifically disclosed and agreed.
Quality, remedies and liability
Services will be performed with reasonable care and skill. If you believe authorised work is defective, notify us promptly and allow a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, repeat or remedy the work.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, liability is limited to losses that were reasonably foreseeable and directly caused by breach.
Complaints and governing law
Complaints should be raised using the process in the Complaints Policy. These terms are governed by Scots law. Scottish courts have jurisdiction, without preventing consumers from using any mandatory rights available in the part of the United Kingdom where they live.
